Day #1 – Listen to Your Pain. Day #2 – Despise your present chains. Day #3 – Know you have an Adversary. In every circumstance you live in two environments (1 Peter 5:6-9). God is seeking your salvation and satan your destruction. Satan is a real adversary. He uses the instruments of your environment to steal, kill and destroy anything of God in your life (John 10:10). But remember, in Christ he is a defeated foe. You enforce his defeat when you speak the word of God, you demoralise him when you praise and he flees when you resist him. You are more than a conqueror (Rom. 8:35, 37) when in Christ you wrestle him away (Eph. 6:12). Day #4 – Magnify the Consequences of Sin. Satan would have you magnify the pleasures of sin and minimize its consequences. But sin never stands still. The wages of sin is more sin. Sin diminishes your spiritual capacity to enjoy God and will pay you the wages of death. Each seed of disobedience to God is like a magnet that attacks tragedy into your life. Learn to hate evil and love righteousness. God will never advance you beyond your last act of obedience to Him. God is not blind or stupid. He sees everything… and sooner or later He will react to your sin and act to save you from its consequences. You can not afford the time lost being “sent to the corner for correction”. Learn from your mistakes and move on with God. Day #5 - Don’t cover, confess your mistakes. (Prov. 28:13). Everyone has sinned, either publicly or privately. Don’t attempt to cover up your mistakes. Satan’s power thrives in darkness, secrecy and cover ups. You will only strengthen his power over you. The only thing that can conquer darkness is Light (John 1:5). Bring your mistake into God’s light and He will cleanse you, heal you and restore you. To be tuned to God we must be aligned with God. God instructs us very clearly about sin: turn from it and confess it to Him (1 John 1:9). Do it now, not ‘later’. Your confession will be met with His mercy and unlock His grace because of your humility (James 4:6-8). Day #6 – Recognize your deliverers. God is a delivering God. He rose up Moses to lead Israel out of Egypt, through a desert and into a promised land. God will assign you delivers to help you get you to where He calls you. He will assign both human and divine resources to assist your recovery. In His Word, God will assign you personal jewels of wisdom to lead you from curse to blessing. Listen for a voice of victory. Somewhere there is a wisdom key to get you out of prison and into praise. No one succeeds or fails alone. When satan wants to destroy you he sends human instruments; when God wants to promote you, He sends human instruments. Recognize your messengers and listen to their God-sent wisdom! Your spirit needs to discriminate between what means death to you and what means life. Don’t judge a messenger by its cover. Wisdom comes in all shapes and sizes (Matt. 11:18-19). Look beneath the cover and read God’s message! Accept those who come in the Lord’s Name and have a word of faith to re-orient you to divine prosperity. Day #7 - Confess and forsake known sin. You simply cannot soar on the wings of faith when guilt and a bothered conscience weigh you down. Fear is an unforgiving prison. When you permit sin in your life, you become afraid of God’s presence (Gen. 3:10). It is difficult to expect a miracle in such a place. Confession of sin breaks open prison doors. God anticipated your need of mercy long ago and sent Christ to take care of it. God promises not only to forgive every confessed sin, but also to cleanse your very consciousness from the every pollution of it (1 John 1:9). You have the power to silence all of hell with a simple confession to God. Quit blaming other for decisions you have made. Be responsible. Repent immediately. Turn to God and take flight in the updraft of His forgiveness. Day #8. Celebrate your place in God’s book of life - When you received Christ into your life you were placed in a new standing with God. God now sees you, not in yourself, but in Christ. God has provided you with Christ’s position, resources and inheritance. Nothing can take you out of His hands (John 10:29) or separate you from His love (Rom 8:39). You are a divine victory going somewhere to happen. God keeps an accurate journal. He wrote your name in His book of life (Rev. 3:5) and has recorded your every tear (Psalm 56:8). If you read the end of your story, the Bible says you win! Get excited today about overcoming your adversity. Your name is in God’s book of life. You belong to a winning team and you are stepping into an arena of Christ-made Champions. Self-pity is over. It’s celebration time in your life! Day #9. -- Expect God to turn things around. In 24 hours God can turn any situation around. Today is not permanent. Your worst circumstances in this natural world are subject to change and to divine alterations (2 Cor. 4:18). Today does not determine where you’ve been, but where you are going. You are not the product of your past but the co-producer of your future (1 Cor. 3:9). God is stepping into the arena of your life and turning the tide in your favour. He is leading you from not enough to more than enough. Each act of obedience shortens the distance to any miracle you are pursuing. Each instruction God gives you is inseparably linked to a supernatural provision in your future. Turn your expectation thermometer to “high” and transcend any doubts you may have held. Goodness and loving-kindness are escorting you towards a new situation (Psalm 23:6). Day #10. -- Be active with your spirit, not passive. You can’t afford to be passive. The enemy of your soul will take advantage to move in on you if you become idle with your spirit. There are divine laws that surround you that you must be aware of. God works in you through your co-operation with Him in your spirit. Satan, however, works against you when you remain passive or allow your God-given faculties to remain idle. Throughout the Bible God calls us to engage all our inward faculties in relating to Him: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength” (Mark 12:30). You are alive in Christ. Act like it! Talk like it! Engage your life like it! When you are hurt, discouraged and disappointed you will be tempted to become passive. Don’t do it! Push back against the enemy! As you engage your spirit with God, He will come and live through you to empower you to go in His direction. Spiritual motion is a healing potion to your soul! Day #11 – Get moving toward God and His assignment for your life. Every life God creates has a confinement to an assignment. You have a purpose to fulfil as part of God’s work to prepare Himself a counterpart for eternity. Move towards your assignment. You will never possess what you are unwilling to pursue. You were created to contain the fullness of God and to express this in a tangible ministry. Your life has a divine assignment to it and your commission to it is not found wallowing in self pity but in rising up and entering into God Himself. You must enjoy Him to employ your heavenly assignment. Race horses never win races while hiding in their stalls. Divine rewards come to divine reachers! Commanding your mission is a divine compass to greater heights. There is something in you from God that needs to reach further, climb higher and grow stronger. Living things grow, expand and move towards a consummation. Waters stagnate when they stop flowing. So step out, step up and step into your heavenly assignment. God’s great love, like a mighty river is trying to carry you out to the sea of His fullness and fruitfulness. This is not a time to set up camp on the banks of bitterness but a time to enter into the flow of God to bigger and better things. Day #12 - Find the problem God created you to solve. Everything God created has a function to serve. Everything God has made is a solution to a problem. Every plant, germ, animal, cloud and bug is a solution to some problem somewhere. You are no different. There is uniqueness to your life that is of divine wisdom and design. The world awaits the engagement of your life as a divine answer to a pressing problem. Joseph had a gift to interpret dreams that tormented a king. His gift promoted him from a prison to a palace! David had a gift to shepherd sheep. His gift promoted him from a shepherd boy to a shepherd king! Your significance is not in your similarity to others but in your difference, your God-given uniqueness. So get involved in the lives of others and use your abilities to serve. Find your God-given gifts and with them, your assignment to solve problems. Your practical worth and significance in this life will be determined by the kinds of problems you solve. Because of sin, everywhere there are problems; because of Christ in us, everywhere we can take His solution. The world is a ripe field awaiting your life as a God-prepared solution. Day #13 – Step out and testify to God’s Goodness. Take care of God’s business and He will take care of yours. Be a gospel giver to a world in need of good news. The first two letters of the word “gospel” spell “go”! God’s news is too good to keep to your self; you must go and take His Good News to the needs around you. The starting point of every miracle is to take Christ into impossible situations. Be bold. Be a bridge between people’s need and Jesus as the miracle working answer. Promote Him and He will promote you. He is the Creator and nothing created is more powerful. Step out in faith and testify about what God has done for you. Someone somewhere needs to hear the Good News. You are Christ’s body. That means you are His hands, His feet, His voice – He needs you to be the vehicle that brings salvation to the lost. The sooner you focus on telling others about His Greatness the quicker your own problems will be swallowed up in the momentum of praise you have created. Day #14 – Start pursuing the wisdom of God. Day #15 – Face any problem honestly. Day #16 – Withdraw from contentious people and abandon abusive friendships. Day #17 – Create a climate for miracles. Day # 18 – Allow yourself time to change. Day #19 – Feed your faith daily. Day #20 – Meditate on God’s solutions not your problems. Your greatest problem lies between your ears! An un-renewed mind is the workshop of satan. So many believers are held out of walking in God’s Spirit because their minds have never been renewed with God’s Word (Rom. 12:3), submitted to the spirit (Eph. 4:23) and offered to God as an instrument of righteousness (Rom. 6:13). The starting point of making changes begins with meditating in God’s word and getting our thinking straightened out. Most people spend their time meditating on their problems rather than meditating on God’s answers. God’s word is life. His word creates faith. Pour the Word over your mind daily and cleanse your thinking from human opinions. Most of your prayer time with God can be wasted with analysing the problem instead of soaking in God’s answer. The sooner you start your thinking process from the point of God’s wisdom the sooner you will arrive at a heavenly solution for your problem. Stop meditating on the lies of the devil and start meditating on God’s solutions. Day #21 - Make prayer a regular appointment. Be earnest in prayer (Col. 4:2). Build your day around God; don't try and fit Him in around your day. A "prayer life" is not established until prayer is part of your daily life! Keep an appointed time each day with God. You make appointments with doctors, mechanics and friends. Why not make your time with God an appointed time each day? Daniel kept an appointment to pray three times a day (Dan. 6:10). The psalmist prayed seven times a day (Ps. 119:164). Great men of faith have great habits that separate them from the common path. You will need to treat your time with God as an appointment you cannot break if you are going to succeed spiritually. Otherwise, ther will always be a "reason" not to keep your time with Him. Learn to not only keep a time with God everyday, but learn to enjoy Him and enjoy the sacredness of meeting with Him. He looks forward to the time He can spend with you, so should you. You want to keep your life free from diss-appointments, so learn to keep your time of appointment with God. This daily habit will put something into your life that you just cannot get anwhere else. Day #22 – Discern God’s daily agenda. We live one day at a time. Daily living is a gift. Your agenda for each day should be decided in the presence of God. If it is not, then who is really ‘Lord’ of your life? Your daily agenda will send you either into miracles or tragedy depending on whether or not you are led by the Spirit of God. You should learn how to trust God hourly. Obedience is an hourly event. The inner witness of your spirit is the signal that will tell you whether you have an inner peace about any decision or action. Listen to it. God is leading you by this inner consciousness. Success in life is really just a daily event of staying in the joy that is encountered when doing the will of God hour by hour. Until something is what you think about every hour, it is not really a priority or a vision that has captivated your heart. Focus on living for God one day at a time and make His agenda that you will discern in your spirit your main priority. Hour by hour learn to discern the interests of your spirit, where God will make His ways known to you and where you can live in unbroken fellowship with Him. Day #23 – Fellowship faithfully with the Body of believers. When you where saved you were not only baptised into Christ, but also baptised into His body the church. You, together with all other believers, are part of the “one new man” (Eph. 2::15) and your spiritual reality is now interdependent with your fellow believers. As a physical body requires the “fellowship” and active interaction of all the functions of the body to be healthy, so also you need to stay in the active fellowship of the church to receive all God has for you. Learn to keep your life in God’s presence and grace by staying in the living communion of the body of Christ. Your best will come out of you in God’s presence and in the fellowship of other believers. Remember, one can not multiply. If the enemy can divide you and subtract you from the church, then God can not add to you and multiply His riches to you. Spiritual success is a collection of good relationships with strong believers who will help keep your life on the right track. Day #24 – Give with an expectation to receive. Giving is a mandatory problem solver. Jesus taught us that is a blessing to give (Acts 20:35). To “bless” is to empower to prosper, so when we give it is a blessing… we are empowering ourselves to be supernaturally enriched. In Malachi 3:10 and 11 God challenges you with a promise. He says that if you will bring a tithe of your income into His storehouse and yield it to His work, that He will then open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing so big you will not have room to contain it! A “tithe” mean a tenth. Abraham brought ten percent of His income to God in thanksgiving for the blessing of God. The land he sojourned in could not contain all his herds and flocks. Learn to take your money and convert it from the “filthy lucre” of the world into the blessing of God. You can do this by faithfully giving the first ten percent of your income to the Lord’s work. Plant that “holy seed” into a local church that is committed to God’s work and wrap your faith around that giving, expecting God to keep His side of the promise: that He will pour out on you a blessing too big to contain! Day #25 – Listen to mentors of faith. The Bible says that to gain victory seek the counsel of the wise (Prov. 20:18). Joshua learned to conquer the land of Canaan learning at the feet of Moses. Elisha learned how to operate in the supernatural at the mentorship of Elijah. Timothy learned to walk in faith under the tutelage of Paul. Somewhere there is a mentor that you can learn from too. Observe the lives of the successful and secrets will surface. Pearls of wisdom are found among the diligent. Read the biographies of the spiritual giants and your faith will find new wings. There is someone you know right now who has the insight you need to be successful in what is presently before you. Pursue and extract the wisdom of those who have already earned their trophies of victory. No one is perfect, but there is perfect wisdom to be gleamed from the stories of faith of those who have already walked where you are walking. If you want to reach your goals quicker than most, learn to extract wisdom from all you can. You will never travel in life beyond the wisdom you acquire. Day #26 – Be correctable. Wisdom comes with correction. Do not think you are right all the time. No one is. A part of growing is the need of being corrected, adjusted and disciplined. They say that when airplanes fly they are off-course most of the time, yet the reach their intended destination because they continue making the necessary corrections to get back on track. If you look closely at your life you will probably notice that the people who taught you the most also corrected you the most. If you want to make significant changes in your life you will have to learn to admit mistakes, and have your errors exposed to higher wisdom. Learn to listen to the wisdom of others and to be one who easily receives correction. Your correctors are your protectors. Someone knows something you do not know, and that wisdom may be invaluable to if you will have the humility to receive it. “A wise man will hear and increase learning, and a man of understanding will attain wise counsel” (Prov. 1:5). Day #27 – Be an overcomer. No one doubts that life has its share of difficulties and trials. This is especially true if you have a sense of divine purpose, calling and mission for your life. Tests and trials are sure to come to you if you walk with vision and faith. No servant of God is immune to the sufferings that come from this present age. But that doesn’t mean you give in and give up. God calls you to be an overcommer (Rev. 2:7, 11, 17, 26). To be an overcomer means there must be something that needs to be overcome! If you will take a stand in the middle of your own heart as one who faces whatever comes with faith, dignity and courage, God will support a redemptive outcome. God makes winners not whiners. Each victory authorizes God to promote you further. So learn to overcome your adversities through faith in God. Refuse to be a quitter. Every adversity that comes your way is just another opportunity for promotion. Learn to create small successes when larger ones seem impossible. Victory in a war means taking one battle at a time, facing one challenge at a time. God Himself will be your strength and shield (Psalm 28:7). Day #28 – When you feel troubled, connect with someone who cares. The Bible says to seek counsel in a time of war: “for waging war you need guidance, and for victory many advisers” (Prov. 24:6). Learn to surround yourself with supporters. Reaching out for help is not a sign of weakness; it is a sign of wisdom. To win over the enemy you will need coaches, mentors and supporters of your faith. You will need to overcome your pride, reject the trap of isolation and conquer the attitude of “going-it-alone”. Honour those qualified to help you. God responds to reachers and seekers. Stop looking at what ‘might have been’, ‘could have been’ and ‘would have been’ under different circumstances. Start with where you are and seek advice about where to go from here in a way that honours God and honours those who have gone before you to set examples of victory. Remember that in connection is protection. Stay connected with those who care for you and can give you wise counsel. Day #29 – Don’t panic when the day of trouble hits. Ecclesiastes 7:14 says, “In the day of prosperity be joyful, But in the day of adversity consider: Surely God has appointed the one as well as the other….” Don’t panic when trouble hits. God already anticipated it and has a plan to get you through. Don’t be ‘diss-appointed’; God is trying to “appoint” you to growth and character. This means that whatever comes, God is working to bring you into perfect Christlikeness. Remember, satan is an ex-employee of heaven. God knows this because He’s the one who fired him! If you will get alone with God fear will shrivel and faith will flourish. You will soon lean that there are four ways to respond to crisis: Maximize (exaggerate the crisis and make it worse), minimize (understate the crisis and stay stupid), advertise (tell the whole world about and beg for sympathy) or analyze (extract useful information from it and gain wisdom). A crisis is merely a time of concentrated information in which you can learn more than you usually do! Your adversity is simply your enemy’s reaction to your progress. So analyse, gain wisdom and get back on the path of faith. Trouble is an indication you are heading in the right direction. Day #30 – Keep your heart and your feet moving steadily ahead. Christ has laid before you a path that takes you right into glory. You will have to teach yourself to keep moving steadily ahead even when everyone around you settles for mediocrity. Don’t follow the crowd. Keep moving forward in your faith. Attacks don’t last forever; difficulties will come and go. Trials of faith are only for a season, but your walk with God must stay continuous. Keep your hand steady at the helm. Jesus spent 30 years in preparation for a 3 year ministry that changed the world. Moses spent 80 years becoming a great leader. Time is God’s gift to you. Don’t be in a hurry. Patient and steady resolve to move forward is a weapon that forces deception and lies to reveal themselves in favour of the truth of God’s plans for you. Everyday battles and struggles are paving a way towards a life at God’s throne in glory. The future God is making from your daily acts of obedience is unlike anything you have ever known! So keep your eyes forward and your hand steady on the plough. God is sowing a bright future behind every inch of ground you work in His Name. Day #31 – Keep the spirit of a Champion. Anyone can start a task; few people complete them. Anyone can begin a marathon. Champions finish them. Everyone goes through difficult times on the road to fulfilling a dream, but those who stay at it and stay strong to the finish will be the ones who are rewarded. Jesus said, “He who stands firm to the end will be saved” (Matt 24:13). Determine to be a finisher. Plan to be one who “goes the distance” by keeping inspiration alive, hope kindled and your spirit ignited. Don’t be a quitter. Your God given dreams and goals are worth any fight, any waiting and any price. Don’t give up. Your perseverance in faith will demoralize your enemy and keep your spirit in the fight. Faith combined with patience is an unbeatable combination. Champions are born in the battlefield not in the bubble bath. Champions are just ordinary people who refuse to let go of extraordinary dreams. They stick with it. They don’t quit. They persevere and win. At the end of your life be able to say, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day” (2 Tim 4:7-8). Be a champion. |
